Whereas Antarcticland being a sovereign nation and fighting for universal rights and prmotion of Education globally, and recognizing the vital role that education plays in sustainable better livelihood, and recognizing the inalienable right of all citizens to pursue a decent and quality education legally in any sovereign nation, note with concern the following:

  • The recent alleged attacks on Indian students in Australia, that has a racist colouration;
  • That Indian nationals and indeed the nationals of other sovereign nations legally resident in Australia, have the right to pursue a academic program of their choice;
  • That the Australian government have the right and constitutional responsibility to protect the lives and properties of all foreign nationals within its geographical territory;
  • It encourages the Australian government to take the following and all legal actions to halt the further attacks on Indian students in India;
  • Apprehend the culprits responsible for this attacks and punish them to serve as deterrent to others;
  • We appeal to Australian citizens to maintain peace and racial harmony with all foreigners;
  • That Australian government do all within its powers to rekindle hope and security in the heart of Indian students affected by this attacks;
  • That the Australian government should compensate Indian students that lost valuable properties as a result of this attacks.

    australia_indian2The spate of racial attacks against Indians spread to Adelaide, capital city of South Australia, after members of the community were targeted in Melbourne and Sydney.
    South Australian Premier Mike Rann described the attacks as a "disgrace" and said the state has been welcoming migrants and students from around the world for many years.
    "We are seen internationally as one of the safest and most supportive multicultural communities. We will not tolerate any form of racism," Rann said.
