The Government of Antarcticland, while waiting for the domain name: .ant to be assigned, has enabled the .ant through the Cesidian Root, bypassing the ICANN monopoly.
In order to bypass the monopoly and to be able to display the .ant, as other alternative domains, it is necessary to insert two numbers in the DNS of your computer.

Why should you purchase a domain .ant?
A lot of domains are not any longer available with the ordinary extensions, with .ant you could purchase no-longer available domains or the ones which in auction sale would cost thousands of euros as business, stock exchange, casino, poker, escort, money and hundreds of others. To own a .ant, although the present limitations (you need to modify in number DNS on the computer in which you want to display it), can give more privacy and prestige to your activity.
Obviously until the ICNN doesn't accept our domain name, you cannot own only a domain .ant because you could not be visualized by the ones who haven't modified the computer.

Instructions for Windows XP
1. Click Start and select Control Panel
2. Click two times the icon Network Connection
3. Click the mouse right button on the icon Connection and select Property and a new window will open
4. Select the option Protocol TCP/IP and click the button Property and a new window will open. Insert the addresses DNS (78.47.115.195 e 78.47.115.198) into the proper windows selecting the button – use the following DNS – see the window in English as it appears.
5. As soon as finished, click OK and once more OK to confirm the modification.
Now you can surf the traditional web of the ICANN and the alternative net through the Cesidian Root.

ICANN  have recently showed willingness to increase the number of the available domain names however they will not open the procedure for the purchase of domain names before the half of 2009.

What is the ICANN?
ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is a no-profit agency, with offices in Marina del Rey and in Bruxelles. It has  the responsability (monopoly) to assign the IP addresses (Internet Protocol), to manage the system of the domain names (generic Top-Level Domain, gTLD, quail.com, .net,.info) and of the country codes Top Level Domain (ccTLD), which identify a specific territoriy, such as .uk for the United Kingdom, .it for Italy, as well as the root server. In the past, these services were granted by IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority), under mandate of the United States government and by other agencies.
Having as base a public-private partnership, ICANN holds the office to safeguard the operative stability of Internet, to promote the market competition of the domain names, to guarantee the highest level of representation of  Internet community and to develop coherent policies under its mandate through  partecipation and consensual procedures (processes).

What is DNS?
The DNS (Domain Name System) is the denomination of the domain which helps the users to surf the net. On the web every computer has a univocal address named “IP address” (Internet Protocol Address). Since the IP addresses (which are strings of numbers) are difficult to memorize, the DNS allows the use of a known character string (the domain name). Consequently, instead of taping  “192.0.34.163” it is possible to tape “www.icann.org”.
The DNS translates the domain name typed into the correspondent IP address and executes the connection with the sought website. Besides the DNS permits the correct working of the electronic mail for which the sent e-mail will reach the addressee.

What is the Cesidian Root?
The Cesidian Root is a system of 15 root nameserver which solves the whole namespace  of ICANN (267 TLDs), as well as 48 alternative domain names. The Cesidian Root is actually, as matter of fact, a complete intercontinental internet which solves, not one, but 5 root: the ICANN root (267 domains),  the proper Cesidian Root (25 domain names), the Chinese Root (3 domain names), the Arabian Root (4 domain names), and the Root of the i-DNS.net (19 domain names).
